Human Life International Starts Campaigning for St. Michael Prayer

By Garrett Godwin

Today, the Reverend Thomas J. Euteneuer, STL began a worldwide campaign in advocating prayer for the St. Michael prayer after every Mass service.  Euteneuer is the president of Human Life International, which is asking people to sign a pledge of support for the grassroots campaign being developed to encourage the laity to pray for St. Michael`s intercession daily for the conservation of abortionists.

"The fight against the culture of death is primarily a spiritual battle", Euteneuer states, "and Human Life International knows that with the aid of St. Michael, abortionists around the world will convert from their cooperation with evil.  Nowhere are the words of St. Paul that `our struggle is not flesh and blood but with the principalities, with the powers, with the world rulers of this present darkness, with the evil spirits in the heavens` (Ephesians 6:12), more evident or obvious than in the abortion battle."

Priests and bishops are being called to add the St. Michael prayer after the final blessing at all Masses.  HLI are not only asking people for their support of the campaign and pray the St. Michael daily (especially after each Mass), but also send copies of the pledge to the parishes being inserted in weekly bulletins.

"As a pro-life organization", Euteneuer said, "we are naturally concerned with the babies killed by abortion and their mothers who are ravaged by it.  But we are also concerned with the eternal souls of those caught in this evil, the abortionists, and others who promote it.  We want to see them in Heaven, and as a priest that is of ultimate concern of me."
