Islam Of The Devil?

Islam Of The Devil?

By Robert Paul Reyes

"A 10-year-old girl was sent home on her first day back to school in Gainesville for wearing a shirt that was deemed offensive.

Faith Sapp wore a shirt to class Monday with the words `Islam Is Of The Devil` printed on it. The words are the same of those at an outreach center where her father serves as the pastor." http://www.wftv.com/news/20545179/detail.html

I find it very offensive when parents use their young children as props in political demonstrations, I don`t care if it`s an anti-abortion rally or an anti-war march.

A 10-year-old girl doesn`t know enough about Islam to offer criticism of the religion. Her pastor father should be ashamed of himself for subjecting his daughter to ridicule or even violence.

I know enough about Islam and fundamentalist Christianity to know that they are both "of the devil." Children should be seen and not heard, especially when it comes to religion and politics.

Parents shouldn`t indoctrinate their children into any religion, they should let their kids choose their own religion (or atheism) when they are old enough to know better. It`s nothing short of brainwashing when parents force their religion on their offspring.

The school was right in sending the child home, her T-shirt is offensive and disruptive in a classroom setting.
