By SOP newswire

Have you ever thought about being a scientist or wondered what they do? The U.S. Geological Survey invites you to find out during their Open House on Nov. 29, 3:00 to 6:00 p.m., at 600 4th St. S., in St. Petersburg, FL. This is a free, family-friendly event. Please come!

During the Open House, scientists from the USGS will discuss geology, coastal processes, hurricanes, tsunamis, coral reefs, native fish and wildlife, sinkholes, streamgage technology, ground water and much more. There will be more than 40 displays and interactive exhibits highlighting the Tampa Bay and the state of Florida.

Meet scientists from the USGS and partner agencies including the Museum of Science and Industry, Weedon Island Cultural Preserve, Pier Aquarium, Tampa Bay Watch, Florida Fish and Wildlife Research Institute, and the Southwest Florida Water Management District and NOAA.
