NASA Scientists Discover Ice On Mars
NASA scientists have found a resource more precious than gold, silver, diamonds or oil on Mars: Water!
Water is essential to life on earth, without water our small blue planet would be barren and lifeless.
Water and life are synonymous, this incredible discovery means that there`s a good chance that life on Mars is no longer just in the realm of science fiction.
At one time there might have been more advanced forms of life on the red planet, but there still could be microscopic life.
"The existence of ice on Mars was confirmed today by NASA scientists, the first time frozen water has been sampled on another planet. Water in liquid form is an essential ingredient for life.
Whitish, dice-sized chunks, which were dug from the rocky red soil and warmed in the sun, vanished four days after the National Aeronautics and Space Administration`s Phoenix probe dug them up June 15. They confirm what NASA satellites have suggested for years: Frozen water exists several centimeters beneath Mars`s surface. "

Now that we have discovered water/ice on Mars, NASA must accelerate its program to put a man on Mars. The robotic arm of the Phoenix probe can only do so much, it`s imperative that we send men to Mars.
Some would argue that with gas exceeding $4 a gallon, now is not the time to invest billions on the space program. But I would counter that our planet`s dwindling energy resources should inspire us to take the long-range view (really long-range) and start thinking in terms of one day colonizing space. Going to Mars is an essential first step in this goal.
