Judyth Piazza's Battle of the Bands Featuring Freak 13 with October Sin
"We dont follow trends, we make them, said band bassist/vocalist Chester Moore. "This is heavy metal without the drugs and wasted lives. Our focus is the music and putting on a good show That alone sets ups apart," he added.
Moore who along with his bandmates describes the bands sound as Monster Metal, draw influences from bands like Iced Earth, Pantera and Type O Negative and put them in a unique format. We are what we are and there is no apologizing. This is straight up, in your face metal with actual melody and singing. This is heavy stuff without just trying to be heavy and it sounds modern, said guitarist Scot Lackey.
Freak13 who have established a reputation as a brutal, slamming live band have released their debut double cd FEAR NO EVIL, including one disc dedicated to horror films and literature. Its horror written in such a way the sounds could stand alone without the horror theme. We get to the core of why these films have stood the test of time and put a lot of atmosphere in them.
Were very proud of the project, said Chester Moore. And so are people in the horror movie industry. The band has recorded guest voiceovers from Ben Chapman who played the legendary Creature from the Black Lagoon and scream queen Brinke Stevens.
