SOP's Battle of the Bands Featuring D. Malone with 'Pucker Up'
A woman with style, sex appeal and down to earth attitude those are just some words to describe D. Malone. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, D. Malone is an R&B/Pop/Hip Hop/ Soul recording artist /songwriter and entertainer.
D. Malone`s dream to be a star began at the age of 5. She knew for sure while singing riveting solos in her school and church choirs that singing and entertaining was her passion. She has been singing and performing all of her life, and her talent is clearly evident when you listen to her music. D. Malone started out in the entertainment industry as a member of the trio Deige which was managed by Harve Pierre, VP of A&R at Bad Boy Records until their unforeseen separation, which lead her to becoming a solo artist. Shortly thereafter with the help of D.V. Alias Khyrst and producer Chuckie Madness, she was introduced to the hit making team, `The Characters`.
The Characters, Charles Ferrar and Troy Taylor took the then known as Diamond Malone and began to mold her into a Star. They believed in her so much that decided to sign her to their newly acquired label which was distributed by Platinum Entertainment. Their merger with former CEO Hank Williams was ended once the label went bankrupt leaving Ms. Malone without a recording deal.
While continuing to hone her skills as a solo artist and looking for a new home, D. Malone has written songs for, and recorded with many major and independent R&B, Hip Hop and Pop artists such as Grand Daddy I.U., D Nice, D. V. Alias Khyst, Pudgee, Lexx9Eleven, Drawzilla, Smooth Da Hustler, Total, Jo Jo Pellegrino and host of others.
In addition, she has also gained stage and performance experience while performing as a background vocalist for Shawn Kane on tour with Alicia Keys, Angie Stone, and Anthony Hamilton, as well as some major, independent and other International Pop artists. She has also performed as a solo artist at various events and Open Mics.
