U.S. vs Iran in FIVB Youth World Championship

The U.S. has been drawn along with the defending champion Iran in Pool B of the 2009 FIVB Boys` Youth World Championship.
 
The drawing ceremony was held at the Hotel Relais Monaco in Ponzano Veneto, Italy, on Thursday, the U.S. was drawn into a difficult Pool along with the Iran, Serbia and Japan.
 
Six-time world champion Brazil has been drawn in Pool D with Russia, Poland and India. All Pool B and Pool D matches will take place in the resort city of Jesolo, Italy. 
 
The Aug. 28-Sept. 6 tournament kicks off with a 24-match first round, with the first- and second-placed finishers in each pool moving on to Pools E and F in the second round.

Pool A: Italy, Tunisia, Puerto Rico, Egypt
Pool B: Iran, U.S., Serbia, Japan
Pool C: Argentina, France, Spain, Algeria
Pool D: Brazil, Russia, Poland, India
