Jim Nantz Rips Apart Tiger Woods

By Robert Paul Reyes

"Jim Nantz the soothing, restrained voice full of deference to the majesty of Augusta National on Masters telecasts, termed Tiger Woods` outburst early in Saturday`s round `disappointing.` But CBS`s lead golf announcer went much further in a later radio interview.

tiger woods`If I said what he said on the air, I would be fired,` Nantz said Monday on New York`s WFAN. `I read in the USA Today and it was called `mild language.` Someone on my broadcast dismissed it as him having a camera in his face.

`Well, guess what? Phil Mickelson had a camera in his face all week and did you even hear him come close to approaching that? He didn`t hit every shot the way he wanted. Have you ever heard Arnold Palmer or Jack Nicklaus use that kind of language? What are the parameters between what`s right or wrong?`" Read More

Golf is a game played by gentlemen, in no other game do athletes call their own fouls. Golfers act as if they are at church when they are playing in a golf tournament, they speak in hushed tones, and act like gentlemen. It might be kosher for a baseball player to adjust his crotch on TV, but a golfer wouldn`t adjust his drawers even if a hooligan gave him a wedgie.

The Masters is golf`s most prestigious event, and a golfer would rather die than do anything to disgrace his sport at this premier event.

Then there`s Tiger Woods, who acts like a professional wrestler and not a golfer. The low-life golfer had a couple of profane outbursts at the Masters, and most people gave him a pass.

Thank goodness for Jim Nantz who blasted the scumbag golfer for his childish and profane outbursts.

The Masters is the most tightly controlled event in sports, and it`s no surprise there were no hecklers. I can`t wait for the next tournament that Tiger enters, hecklers will give Tiger a bit of his own medicine and hurl profanities at him.

If Tiger can get away with blurting obscenities, no fan should be kicked out of a tournament for yelling expletives at the playboy golfer.
