Iran Sitting Volleyball Team Win World Title in U.S.

By Suren Hossein

Iran defeated Bosna and Herzegovina and claimed the title of the 2010 Sitting Volleyball World Championships on Sunday.

Iran earned a narrow 3-2 victory over Bosnai and Herzegovina in Edmond, Oklahoma.

"It feels good to win after working so long toward it," said Iranian coach Hadi Rezaei through a translator. Iran was up a set before Bosnia stormed back to win the fourth set and force the decisive fifth frame. "Our players thought it was over after two sets, and they let up," Razaei said.

"I told them it takes 25 points to win, not 24. That`s the beauty of this sport."

Egypt beat Russia and came third. Iran, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Egypt secured berths in the 2012 Paralympic Games in London.

In the women section, The U.S. finished in second place after being defeated by China in straight sets.
"We achieved our primary goal of qualifying for the Olympics this week," Coach Bill Hamiter said.
