iPhone 4 Announced as well as Netflix, Guitar Hero, and Farmville for the iPhone
Today WWDC - Worldwide Developers Conference launched with Steve Jobs keynote. Here are the highlights of the keynote: Netflix will be out for the iPhone this summer, 3G is supported along with WIFI Farmville will be out at the end of June for the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad. You can turn on push notifications to know when your crops are withering. Guitar Hero is available now for the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad for $2.99. The game comes with classic rock from Queen and the Rolling Stones.
To no surprise, the iPhone 4.0 was announced. Here are the highlights:
There are over 100 new features Glass on the front and back, and steel around the sides. It is 24% thinner than the iPhone 3GS making it the thinnest smartphone on the planet. Bottom, mic, top, headset jack, noise cancellation mic. The new iPhone 4.0 introduces Retina Display. In any display there are pixels. Apple dramtically increased the pixel density, four times the amount. Now the retina display as 326 pixels per inch. The iPhone 4 is powered by the A4 chip. The battery is bigger and has improved the battery life. You will get 7 hours of 3G talk, 6 hours of 3G browsing, 10 hours of WiFi browsing, 10 hours of video, 40 hours of music, and 300 hours of standby. Apple added a 3 axis gyroscope, and tied the gyro and accelerometer, compass, and gyro together for six axis, which is really good for gaming. The camera is now 5 megapixels, but it uses a backside illuminated sensor. 5x digital zoom, tap to focus, and an LED flash. It also records HD video.720p at 30fps iMovie will be available for iPhone costing $4.99 An app called "Face Time" for video conferencing over WIFI only for 2010.
Steve Jobs also talked about OS4 which is now named iOS 4. Some things he mentions was already mentioned in a conference a few months ago, you can read that article here, but here are the new features mentioned today:
iBooks which will be in iOS 4 on the iPhone has an update - bringing native PDF support as well as bookmarks. Your PDFs will get their own seperate bookshelf. Apple has added Bing as a search engine option for the iPhone, so you can choose between Google, Yahoo, and now Bing. iBooks - Will be available on the iPhone, the iPad, and the iPod touch. Together you can purchase and download a book. It will download wirelessly. You can download the same book to all your devices at no extra charge. Buy it on your iPad, download to your iPhone. And iBooks will automatically and wirelessly sync your current place, all your bookmarks, and all your notes.

The iPhone 4 goes on sale June 24th.
AT&T is going to make an incredibly generous upgrade offer. If your contract expires at any time in 2010, you can upgrade to the iPhone 4. You can get it up to six months early.
iOS 4 will be available June 21st, free, also it will be free for the iPod Touch.
