The Internet is a bastion of freedom and democracy in an increasingly authoritarian world where our every action is monitored and recorded and our every word is parsed and investigated.

We must fight every attempt to censor the content that`s posted online. Facebook has a history of censorship, about a year ago the social networking site banned photographs of women breastfeeding their children, labeling these natural and wholesome images "obscene content."

The Facebook censors have got their crotchless panties in a twist over an image of a topless doll. I don`t know whether to seethe with rage or burst out laughing.

Western Civilization isn`t going to go the way of the Roman Empire if Facebook allows an image of a topless doll to remain on its site.

I must stress that this isn`t an image of a sex doll with a gaping mouth and huge nipples; it`s an image of an expensive porcelain doll, for god`s sake.

Facebook needs to do a better job of blocking pedophiles from Facebook, and stop worrying about harmless images.
