Online Service Makes New York City Condo Shopping a Snap

By Alan Gray

When it comes to doing the homework on condominium sales and purchases in New York City, things just became a whole lot easier. A new online service called has just launched and is raising the bar when it comes to making plans to purchase or sell a condo. The new service allows consumers to do research with no pressure from sales agents. The site helps people to be informed and knowledgeable prior to buying or selling.

The new search tool allows users to create custom reports by searching for condos throughout the city, based upon whatever parameters they choose. Searchers narrow results by choosing criteria, such as the number of bedrooms, price range, specific addresses, zip code, or particular neighborhoods. They can also get data on condo sales that have taken place in prior years, allowing for a great deal of research to be conducted on any particular property.

"The search tool allows people to easily and affordably search thousands of condos throughout the city," says Henry Robbins, executive vice president of Yale Robbins, Inc.. "There is no better way a person can be protected before buying or selling than to really know the market. Our service arms them with all they need in order to make an informed purchase or sale."

Generated reports include actual sales for all recent transactions in the building or neighborhood. People are now able to create the survey through this Web site at a time that is convenient for them. "We make available to our visitors, sales data and floor plans on over 25,000 actual condo sales that have taken place over the last five years," explains Robbins. "There is no other place someone can go to create their own customized market survey."

Visitors to the site can also get sales statistics that cover the last year, showing how many condos were sold, average price, average square foot, and where those sales took place. After conducting a search of the database, the user is then provided with a full detailed report on the information they requested. The report, which is purchased for $1 per condo, with a $35 minimum charge, includes information on pricing, floor plans, amenities, and building information. The database is updated daily to remain accurate.

"For 30 years we have been providing accurate real estate information to the public," adds Robbins. "Now we've taken it online to allow people the ability to do their own research, on their terms, and in the comfort of their own home."
