Turkey is climbing up in the stairs of tourism in Europe. Its clean beaches, new hotels,  low prices, excellent food, a magnificent historic and archaeological heritage, thousand and one festivals of film, music, dance and theatre, many in the ancient historic settings, Turkey is indeed attracting more and more tourists each year. Added to the classic sun and beach vacations, Istanbul a giant of 15 million population is also attracting millions of foreign tourists every year with her rich history and setting between the two continents.   In 2007, in the first six months, over 9 million foreign tourists visited Turkey. This puts Turkey in Nr 11  among the tourist countries of the world, but Turkey has become Nr 9 among the tourist countries according to her income from tourism.

Some of the popular spots in Turkey for tourists are :  Istanbul, which is the second oldest city in Europe after Rome; The south coast with its pearls of Antalya, Alanya, Side, Kas; the south west with Bodrum, Marmaris and the surrounding region and the entire The Aegean  coast with Izmir and Cesme, Kusadasi, Ayvalik and Edremit  region including the historic Troy offer both sun, sea and history.

Many tourists visiting Turkey decide to buy a second home in those fascinating vacation paradise.

The summers are longer in southern Turkey than anywhere else in the Mediterranean under the effect of the “land climate" as Turkey is annexed to the Middle East and range from April till November. The peak summer months July and August, though, can be too hot for many, but not for all, as many Russian and Nordic tourists like to soak themselves in the hot sun, while others prefer to enjoy the reasonable climate of the Black Sea region of Turkey in those months.

Turkey is a vast and charming new tourism choice of Europe.
