The Adventures of Traveling by Rail

By Askin Ozcan (Mentor)

London to China by Rail

It is already possible to travel by rail from London to Tehran via Istanbul.

One has to change trains at several points like Beograd and Istanbul. Connection from Istanbul to the Iranian border is daily, but to Tehran, only weekly.

They are now building the railway somewhere between Iran and Afghanistan and after two years it will be possible to travel from London to China by rail, most probably in the same sleeping-car without needing to change trains.

LONDON - NEW YORK BY RAIL:

The Russian billionaire, Mr. Roman Abramovitz, who is simultaneously the owner of the football team Chelsea and the Mayor of a city in Siberia as well as the owner of more than 100 yachts, who also gave a present to his ex-wife of more than a billion dollar alimony plus a yacht to be able to divorce her, has now started his project, "LONDON - NEW YORK BY RAIL."

This project entails the building of a tunnel from the Russian side of the Bering Straits, to the US side (Alaska) which will be about 170 km long. The construction of this tunnel will take 5 to 6 years.

Mr. Abramovitz has purchased the biggest tunnel boring machine for this purpose, from Germany, which has a 20 m. diameter. After building of this tunnel, it will be possible to travel from London to New York by rail, via Moscow, Siberia and Alaska.
