Adventures in Cheese Snob Land: Leaving at Last

Adventures in Cheese Snob Land: Leaving at Last

By Christine Stoddard

It`s 10:30 a.m. EST on Monday, June 29 and I am finally printing out my boarding pass for Swiss Air. It`s probably not very classy to admit that I`ve been internally squealing like Piglet all morning, but I`m not too concerned about that right now. I`m just concerned about getting through customs without them mistaking me for a terrorist, boarding my plane without leaving anything behind (plastic dragons are essential in Paris), arriving in Geneva without crashing, arriving to Paris without crashing, navigating the Parisian Metro without teenage vagabonds slashing me, and finally finding the rest of my fellow VCU students at our youth hostel. See? No proverbial sweat. Ha, I can`t actually say that until I`m playing the hokey-pokey with a bidet in a five-foot square bathroom at the Kellermann.

Breathe now, Christine. Air`s too expensive in France.
