This fall, Torchwood arrives on BBC America

Torchwood-- Separate from the government, outside the police, and beyond the United Nations.

From the creators of the long-running Doctor Who comes the spinoff Torchwood, debuting on BBC America Supernatural Saturday this month.

Heading the organization is the charming and dashing Captain Jack Harkness of the 51st century.  Originating during the 2005 season of Doctor Who in the episode "The Empty Child", Jack was a con man and pirate, but as he becomes a companion of the ninth Doctor in the final episodes of season one, he learns to be a better person... as well as slowly becoming a hero.

Now a member of a covert agency named The Torchwood Institute, Jack joins a team of operatives monitoring and investigating the paranormal, using alien technology they've collected in preparing for to save Earth.

"The 21st century is where it all changes", he says, "and you've got to be ready."

So, save the planet with Torchwood, starting this Saturday at 9PM on BBC America.
