This fall, prepare yourself for a Supernatural war

This fall, prepare yourself for a Supernatural war

By Garrett Godwin

For years, the Winchesters have been in the business of saving people and hunting evil.  Now, they must not just go to work, but also go to war.

October 4 marks the third season of Supernatural, in which the fate of humanity is in the hands of brothers Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles).

Finally destroying the Yellow-Eyed Demon and avenging their mother should have meant celebration for the Winchester men, but it doesn`t come without a price.  In order to bring back his little brother, Dean sold his soul and only has a year to live.  Angry at what his brother did, Sam will do whatever it takes to save Dean and get him out of this deal.  However, Dean wouldn`t allow it, as he sets out to enjoy whatever time he has left.

And as for Sam, he`ll be growing up a bit, according to Padalecki.  For instance, if it`s supernatural and a demon, Sam will kill it, he said.  In other words, the youngest sibling will act a little more like his older brother, Dean.

Because of last season`s finale, over 200 demons have been let loose on the world, and now Sam and Dean must prepare for battle in order to save the world.

Supernatural`s third season is "war time", according to Eric Kripke at Comic Con.  But it is also, the creator continues, about choosing sides and "fighting to the death".  Kripke also states that there will two female additions to the series in the form of Katie Cassidy and Lauren Cohan.  Though there will be sparks between them and the Winchesters, he said, don`t expect romance anytime soon, because these women will be trouble for Sam and Dean.

The battle for humanity`s soul begins when the new season of Supernatural starts October 4 at 9pm on the CW.
