Vampire Heroes Prowl the Night

Vampire Heroes Prowl the Night

By Garrett Godwin

Friday nights belongs to two vampires who make women's hearts race and their blood pump, as they take a bite out of crime this fall.

It starts at 9pm with CBS' Moonlight, with Mick St. John (Alex O'Loughlin), a private investigator who takes on cases the police won't, hoping it will make up for what he is.

Though Moonlight has a little bit of Angel, it is more of another fantasy-romance cult series from CBS in the genre, Beauty and the Beast (1987-90), both created by Ron Koslow.  The main foundation is the star-crossed relationship between Mick and Internet reporter, Beth Turner (Sophia Myles).  Though now faced with competition from ABC's Women's Murder Club, Moonlight still holds its own, with Ghost Whisperer as its lead-in.

Two hours later, at 11pm, it is the return of Blood Ties.  Now in its second season on Lifetime, it is based on Tanya Huff's books, with 450-year-old Henry Fitzroy (Kyle Schmid), as he aids private investigator Vicki Nelson (Christina Cox) and police detective Mike Celluci (Dylan Neal), as the trio fights supernatural evil-- with the triangle heating up once again.

Watch as these vampire heroes prowl the night, saving people, and capturing the hearts of their true love, with Moonlight at 9pm on CBS, and Blood Ties at 11pm on Lifetime, every Friday night this fall.
