Ft. Pierce, Fla. Police Department to host annual Santa Cop event

The Ft. Pierce, Fla. Police department will be hosting its annual Christmas “Santa Cop” event at 4:00 p.m. today. The police department collects donations of toys and food for the holiday season for families that are less fortunate during the Christmas holiday.

 

This year, the police department will be providing 32 families with toys for their children and a complete holiday dinner, which includes a 15 lb. turkey with all the trimmings.
 
Santa Claus and his elves will be arriving to hand out toys to the children and food. Many donations are from department employees, community members and organizations, notably recognized is James Dowdy and the Caribbean Fruit Fly Organization.
