Movie Patron Shoots Talker And Stays To Watch Film Until Cops Arrive
"A Philadelphia man faces charges including attempted murder after allegedly shooting another man who was talking during the new Brad Pitt movie.
As patrons ran from the theater, James Cialella reportedly went back to his seat and resumed watching the movie -- until police showed up to arrest him on charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault and weapons violations.
Philadelphia Police Lt. Frank Vanore said it was "truly frightening when you see something like this evolve into such violence."
I have very little free time, but I go to the movies whenever I get a chance. I usually go to the matinee show because there`s less people and less chance of idiots talking and ruining my movie experience. A good film will take you to another world, but an ignoramus cracking a joke will bring you back to reality.
I can understand Cialella`s frustration at the talkative movie patron, but shooting the offender is going a little bit too far. If he had just tased the fool, the audience probably would have applauded instead of running away from the theatre in fear for their lives.
As a filmophile I understand Cialella`s wise decision to go back to his seat and resume watching the movie until the cops arrived. I`m the same way, once I`ve invested more than an few minutes in a movie, I will watch it until the end, even if it`s not exactly the best film I`ve ever seen.
Cialella will undoubtedly spend at least a few months in prison, I hope they have HBO where he will be locked up.
