BAGHDAD – Soldiers from Multi-National Division - Baghdad have successfully found 39 weapons caches and 75 improvised explosive devices in the first week of March, further ensuring the security of Iraqi citizens.

On March 7, an MND-B unit was conducting a route clearance patrol in order tosecure a commonly traveled route of improvised explosive devices northwest of theIraqi capital when they were struck by a roadside bomb, killing three Soldiers and wounding another.

This particular unit has recently conducted several successful joint security missions with their partnered Iraqi Army units, uncovering numerous large weapons caches, resulting in the detention of many suspected insurgents.

The deceased Soldiers’ names are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
