Russia urges the Czech Republic to Say No To U.S.

By SOP newswire

Russia urges the Czech Republic to abstain from taking a decision on the placement of U.S. missile defence elements till October-November next year.

Czechia’s consent to place U.S. missile defence system elements on its territory will be a serious blunder – this is what Yuri Baluyevsky, Chief of the Russian Armed Forces General Staff, said at the talks in Moscow on Tuesday with the first deputy defence minister of the Czech Republic Martin Bartak.

Baluyevsky underlined that on April 28th this year he discussed with his Czech counterpart the situation that is emerging in Europe in view of the United States’ decision to place missile defence system elements in Europe, including its decision to station a radar in the Czech Republic.

Deplorably, April’s discussion has failed to change the position of the Czech leadership, Yuri Baluyevsky said.
