Suspected insurgents die in Coalition air strikes
Coalition forces in Iraq have have killed 12 suspected insurgents in recent air strikes.
British military spokesman Tom Holloway says an air strike in the southern city of Basra Friday killed six people identified as part of a mortar team that was engaging Iraqi troops.
Late Thursday, a U.S. air strike killed six people in Baghdad's Sadr City district, where U.S. forces and Shi'ite militias have been battling for the past week.
Officials say an unmanned aircraft targeted a group of men carrying rocket-propelled grenade launchers.
Sadr City has been the scene of increased fighting between U.S. forces and militants loyal to radical Shi'ite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr.
Fighting has intensified in Iraq since Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki ordered a crackdown on Shi'ite militias last month.
