Dubai To Top Itself?

Dubai To Top Itself?

By Vincent Gonzalez

United Arab Emirates, more commonly known as Dubai, with the world`s tallest building almost completed, claimed Sunday that it is journeying on the creation of an even more ambitious skyscraper; a skyscraper that would soar more than 10 American football fields.

The skyscraper, with an estimated time of over a decade to complete, will be the centerpiece of a sprawling development in a rapidly growing "New Dubai" section of the city. With its foundation work already begun, this tower is sure to marvel many.

The area where the tower is to be located at is in between two of the city`s artificial palm-shaped islands. The project is also said to include 40 additional towers up to 90 floors high and a manmade inland harbor.

The company creating the tower claims that the new project is inspired by Islamic design and draws inspiration from web sites as the harbor of Alexandria in Egypt and the Alhambra in Spain.

Even as it remains uncompleted, Dubai is already home to the world`s tallest building, the Burj Dubai, or Dubai Tower in Arabic. With the height of the steel and glass tower a secret; the height of the proposed tower is likewise a secret, along with its price tag. The Dubai Tower is scheduled to be finished next September.
