Dear American Family
While many intrepid individuals have given their very lives to combat racism, it is utterly appalling that the scourge of this highly destructive philosophy still resides within our nation, and has similarly morphed into a kind of cultural bigotry.
Unfortunately, we have continually allowed racism to exist without any apparent proactive solutions to first educate our children on this matter, and secondly combat this heinous philosophy. It is my contention, that if the youth are truly our future, then it is essential that we begin to educate our son`s and daughter`s (the future leaders of our nation), on the origins, methodologies and practices of the reprehensible philosophy of racism which has divided our nation for far too long.
Moreover, the matter of racism has been so deeply embedded within our cultural psyche, that many Americans remain wholly unaware that there was a time in human history that racism (color prejudices) did not exist. Sadly enough, this knowledge continues to escape most Americans, and most certainly our children.
A candid and comprehensive education on this topic remains imperative to genuinely understand where this philosophy began; why it began, and the intricate mechanics of its designed.
One of the most fundamental and pragmatic ways to accomplish this endeavor, is to incorporate a comprehensive study of racism into the American academic system, and make it a prerequisite for graduation.
From K-12 to the university academic systems, a comprehensive study on the origins, methodologies and practices of racism as a core curriculum remains instrumental to the betterment of our nation.
Ultimately, incorporating a comprehensive study of racism into the academic system of American society will reflect our sincerest love for our children and grand children, as we strive toward reversing the scourge of racism in their life time. Equally, to not do so, will categorically convey the opposite message.
I earnestly look forward to your support. Thank you
