"A descendent of one of Winston Churchill`s wartime aides says the British prime minister ordered the classification of a UFO sighting by a British bomber crew.
Churchill reacted strongly to a report that a Royal Air Force bombing crew returning from a raid on Germany saw an arrow-shaped object hovering above the plane, the report said.
"This event should be immediately classified since it would create mass panic amongst the general population and destroy one`s belief in the Church," the iconic prime minister said. - UPI
Churchill offered his opinion about the need to keep news of the UFO sighting secret to Dwight D. Eisenhower, then the supreme commander of allied forces in Europe.
You never know what powerful men discuss when they are behind closed doors. The next time Russian Prime Minister Medvedev and President Barack Obama get together they will probably discuss Iran, and the Middle East, but they might also argue over which country has the hottest spies.
During World War II America and Britain were fighting a battle to the death against the forces of evil; I doubt if the average American or Brit would have wasted more than a couple of seconds worrying about a UFO.
Some things should be classified by the president, I don`t give a flying fig about the First Lady`s exercise regimen. But if an alien intelligence has made contact with world leaders, the president shouldn`t keep that information hidden from the public.
Politicians often underestimate the wisdom of of their constituents, to their own peril. If we have survived as a nation Britney Spears` serial vagina flashing, we won`t go bonkers if we discover that we aren`t alone in the universe.
