Drug-Sniffing Pooch Finds Pot Stash On First Day On Job

Drug-Sniffing Pooch Finds Pot Stash On First Day On Job

By Robert Paul Reyes

"Not bad for a rookie. The U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency says a drug-sniffing patrol dog on its first night on duty Tuesday helped its handler find a 477-pound load of marijuana.

The agency said Thursday that the drugs were found in nine duffel bags off a remote stretch of highway in Jacumba, about 75 miles east of San Diego. The route is popular with traffickers bringing drugs into the U.S." The Associated Press

The estimated street value of the weed is $380,000, and the pooch`s reward was a dog biscuit that costs two bits. I hope the drug smugglers don`t put out a contract on the precocious doggie.

I have two dogs and they are always bringing me stuff that they find: Bones, tin cans, rocks... Why can`t my canines bring me a duffel bag of weed and a grocery bag full of Doritos, Ding Dongs, Cheetos and cans of Coke?

When the drug-sniffing hound retires, I will put in a bid to adopt him.
