Move on

|
You know, a long time ago old folks used to have some strange sayings, but what they said had a lot of wisdom in it. Some of my ancestors didn't have a great education...like my grandmother. But what she lacked in education somehow she made up for in an old expression old folks called "Mother Wit." Mother Wit is an in inward intuition or common-sense. In our day and age of great book intelligence, a lot of people just lack good ole common-sense. Now back to "Mother Wit...this is a great form of wisdom that it seems some of our ancestors were just endowed with from on high. Well every now and then I just get this Mother Wit that comes on down through me as if I'm just an instrument for these words to flow through. You know Granny used to say..."Don't make them happy twice." I remember the first time I heard her say that and I said, "Granny what do you mean?" She answered, "Boy, old folks used to have an expression where they'd say don't make them happy twice...Happy to see you come and happy to see you go." Well, that's why I think a poem like this is fitting for an old expression like the one my grandmother used to say. So I guess I'm saying "Don't make them happy twice child...just move on." I hope you enjoy this poem because I wrote it especially for you. Move on, Move on into your future and let go of your past. Move on into your destiny you have the will to last. Move on into your journey, go now and and don't you wait. I said move on, move on Today's a brighter day. Now don't you hesistate and have the courage to see your fate. Go forward now there's nothing in your past. Yesterday's gone Today you're free at last, Free at Last. Be happy and listen to your heart, Be full of joy and let nothing set you apart Let nothing separate you because nothing can...separate you from the Love you feel Now feel the love within, yes it's within. Move on into your future and let go of your past. Move on into your destiny you have the will to last. Move on into your journey, go now and and don't you wait. I said move on, move on Today's a brighter day. It's time to move on.
