Obama Puts His Trust Into Famed Stoner from The Silver Screen

By Christopher HIllenbrand

The White House announced that President Barack Obama has added another aide to his staff, and someone clearly adept at lighting up anything but international relations.

Kal Penn, an adamant Obama supporter on the campaign trail, was a regular cast member on the hit medical drama "House" on Fox as well as starring in feature films, before being taken on by the Obama administration as a liaison between the White House and Asian representatives.

Shin Inouye, a spokesperson for the administration, said Penn will become an associate director in the Office of Public Liaison, whose responsibilities will include being an agent to Asian-American and Pacific Islander communities.

If the name doesn`t ring a bell, perhaps you know him better as the champion underachiever Kumar in the movie "Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay".

Penn will be taking a pay cut in his new role that can pay upwards of $41,000 starting salary.

It isn`t much but should he somehow get back into character, I`m sure he would know how to burn through all that green.
