PEBEO - Fashion Crafting

PEBEO - Fashion Crafting

By Anne Laszlo Howard

Los-Angeles-CA (rushprnews)- Boho-- short for Bohemian-- has made a resurgence the past year or so, and is now fully anchored in every young woman’s dream wardrobe. As often is the case, these bejewelled, embroidered and decorated garments are often out of the price range of most budgets, especially students and teens.  For its third project, PEBEO is proposing a Fashion Crafting solution that can be easily accomplished on a stay-at-home Friday Night with the girls.

Under the expert hand of Madeleine Langlois, aka Maddy (from www.maddylane.com), stencilling with PEBEO fabric paint will be easily accomplished, resulting in spectacular adorned garments.  Maddy had a special approach to this project. She says, "When I was a fashion student, I made a new outfit every day. Ever since I have discovered Pébéo’s specialty fabric paints, I have gone back to crafting my own outfits. With these new tools in-hand, it’s now even more of a thrill to create something so totally unique.”

For inspiration for today's Boho chic, start by looking at late 1960's to early 1970's flower child fashions-- not Mod; you want more of a rich hippie look. The twins Mary Kate and Ashley are two young celebs who are photographed often because of their fashion sense, and both dress in a Bohemian style. Watch for photos of them to see if you can pick up ideas for perfecting your own Boho look.  Looking back at another generation, Carly Simon's 1970's attire had a lot of Bohemian flair with those big floppy hats and stenciled jeans. And who could forget Stevie Nicks, the High Priestess of all things Boho?

Make the most of your fall wardrobe by simply adding painted details to any fashion item. Giving new life to your wardrobe is much easier than you may think. If you have never stenciled before, this is an ideal project to start with. It only takes the right products and a little know-how to create.  Maddy used a combination of new and renewed coordinating items that she already had to create this fall Boho look. The results were so spectacular and simple that she has designed a whole fall outfit. A few strokes of PEBEO Stetacolor paints here and there, used along with assorted stencils and you are done. She suggests trying your hand at adding colors and designs of your choice to your own clothing items from skirts, tops, t-shirts to jeans, and even accessories.

We Suggest that You Walk this Way! In addition, complete your outfit with a pair of lace-up boots or any style with a chunky heel.  As succinctly put by Luce Robitaille, Marketing Manager, North-America division at PEBEO “With PEBEO's specialty fabric paints it's never been easier to stylize your fashions. Remember that the goal of this project is to have fun and to look gorgeous in your new Boho outfits, so experiment with the process”.
