New Hip-Hop Magazine Launches Website

By Ashley Mathews

Alert, the magazine, recently released a website to compliment its print publication, which was founded in Columbus, Ohio in 2005 by Charles Robb, an alumnus of Ohio State University.

Alertthemagazine.com has been running for about three months with the hopes of reaching a broader audience. The website offers the latest news in hip-hop culture and beyond.

"Alert is dedicated to making people aware of all things inside and outside of hip-hop culture," said Charles Robb.

Presently the site reviews and highlights some of hip-hop's mainstream and underground music artist. In addition, the website provides a new avenue of advertisement for businesses.

In the near future alertthemagazine.com plans to offer visitors the option of downloading personalized ring tones, wallpapers and e-cards.

Similar to Alert's print version, the website has set itself apart from other websites by stepping outside of the traditional format. In addition, more than 1,000 visitors have visited the site within the first few months. Moreover, the website gives student writers and editors a chance to gain experience as well as demonstrate their talent.
