Vatican: Avatar Worships Nature And Is Bland
"`Avatar` is raking it in at the box office, but the Vatican says it`s bad for business.
The film was panned by both the Vatican`s newspaper and radio station for going green over God.
The newspaper, L`Osservatore Romano, said the film `gets bogged down by a spiritualism linked to the worship of nature." While the radio station said it turns`"ecology into the religion of the millennium.`" Read more
The Roman Catholic Church should try something novel like ministering to the poor, instead of reviewing Hollywood blockbusters.
Evangelical televangelists get a lot of media attention for their relentless attacks on popular culture, but the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights is also busy doing the devil`s work undermining freedom of speech and freedom of expression.
I haven`t seen "Avatar", and I don`t know if it promotes the worship of nature, but I do know that worshiping nature is a gazillion times preferable to believing that a guy who wears a dunce cap and dons bright red shoes is infallible.
Thank God or Mother Earth that intelligent people get their movie information from the critics who write for American newspapers and not from L`Osservatore Romano.
