The Battle of the Bands - Choppy Chop-e Sound

By Judyth Piazza CEO (Editor)

Why this name?
It came from the many genre`s of music That I try to incorporate together to get my style of HIP-HOP that I call the Choppy Chop-e Sound. Its almost like cooking to me. You got to chop up all the right ingredients to make a masterpiece in the kitchen and it should be same way with the music.

Do you play live?
I play the guitar and keyboard on alot of tracks. When I perform Im on the mic with my group called the C.O.C.; we primarily do HIP-HOP. I love performing, its a rush for me. Weve opened up for alot of headliners in the past such as: Wu -Tang, MethodMan and RedMan, Lost Boys, Keith Murray, Rakim, Tribe Called Quest, A.Z. etc... Recently weve been doing shows locally in the MD. ,D.C., VA. area.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Both of them do because you dont have to go anywhere to get the music you want all you have to have is a little computer knowledge and access to the internet.

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
YOU DAMN RIGHT!!! but only for like a distribution or production deal. I`ve been to enough seminars to know to keep it in the family.

Your influences?
I have alot of influence, like in Jazz just toname a few like: Art Blakey, Max Roach, Dizzy Gilespie, Nina Simone etc...ROCK: The Doors, Beatles, Jimmy Hendrix, Guns and roses, Nirvana, Lenny Kravitz, Santana, Stealy Dan, Led Zepplin etc...REGGAE: BOB MARLEY, Peter Tosh, Baras Hamond, Jimmy Cliff, Dennis Brown, dance hall music too etc...R&B: Marvin Gay, Donnie Hathaway, Earth,WindandFire, Curtis Mayfield, Aretha Franklin, Grover Washington Jr., Ray Charles, Jill Scott, etc...Primarily a little bit of everything even classical.
