Hillary Clinton's Kentucky Derby Pick Places Second, Then Dead

Hillary Clinton's Kentucky Derby Pick Places Second, Then Dead

By Robert Paul Reyes

Before the start of the Kentucky Derby Hillary Clinton revealed her favorite: Eight Belles, the only filly in the race.

The 2008 race for the Democratic nomination has turned into a marathon, by the time Obama and Clinton finally reach the finish line they will have to be taken to a hospital for intravenous therapy.

By contrast the Kentucky Derby is known as the most exciting two minutes in sports. If a fan answers his cell phone during the race, he will miss most of the action. It`s impossible to miss any of the action in the presidential race; after every round of primaries and after every debate, the 24-hour cable news channels analyze every nuance ad nauseum.

I`m suffering from Clinton and Obama fatigue; wouldn`t it be great if the Democratic Party streamlined the nomination process so that it resembled the Kentucky Derby, instead of a marathon?

I usually don`t watch the Kentucky Derby, and I`m very sorry I saw it this year. As an aminal lover I was devastated by the tragedy that took place on the race track:

"Hillary Clinton´s pick to win the Kentucky Derby this year came in second, but was later euthanized on the track. The tragic moment at Churchill Downs cast an eerie spell over the campaign and the candidate who recently compared herself and her candidacy to the only female horse running in the race, Eight Belles."

Quotation from CBS News` Fernando Suarez

The filly was put to death after fracturing her front ankles; this is not a good omen for the Clinton campaign. Hillary Clinton is not a quitter, and might take one of Tonya Harding`s henchmen to force her out of the race.

I pray Hillary survives the campaign with her health and spirits intact, but I hope that she comes in second to Obama, just like the game filly.
