IWAS Aims to Expand World Tournament

Paul Depace, president of the international wheelchair & amputee sport federation (IWAS) is set to expand the world tournaments. 

In a meeting held in Piscataway, USA, Depace requested Mahmoud Khosravi Vafa, Iranian Paralympic Committee`s head and Seyyed Yusef Mousavi Nasab, president of IWAS in the west Asian region, to offer their plans to expand IWAS world tournaments in the future. 

It was agreed at the end of the session, the seven key regions of the world will have to establish office to support the disabled sports.  

According to them, the offices will be established in Iran, South Korea or Japan (Asia), Egypt and South Africa (Africa), The U.S. and Brazil (America), and Germany (Europe).   

The 4th edition of IWAS held in Piscataway, USA, from July 19-27 with participation of about 200 athletes from 21 countries.
