William Bass has been in education for 11 years, 7 of which have been at Hazelwood East High School in Saint Louis, Missouri.  He currently teaches Modern Media and English 10 and will be piloting an online program for the Hazelwood School District starting this spring. 

With a Bachelor of Science degree in English from Culver-Stockton College and a Master of Arts degree in Instructional Technology from SIUE, William is a believer in integrating technology into the English classroom.  Through his use of computers in the classroom, he challenges his students to with higher-level thinking activities and holds them responsible for their own education.

He is the founder and sponsor of SpartanCast, a podcast put out by Hazelwood East, and has given many presentations on the use of blogs, wikis and podcasts in the classroom.  He is a member of numerous professional organizations including National Council of Teachers of English, and is serving on the advisory board for Discovery Educators Network.
