Blackwater USA Needs Information Security Specialists
The Information Security Specialist will provide support and program management for a network in support of various classified and/or sensitive government missions.
The Information Systems Security Specialist will have a wide range of knowledge, will independently assess the information security posture of an organization using applicable tools. Will assess information network threats such as computer viruses, operate vulnerability assessment equipment in support of penetration analyses, prepare evaluation reports, and recommend remedial action. Will also provide guidance to less experienced information security professionals. In addition, the ISS will provide assistance in managing access and status of cleared personnel. This is a salaried position based in Moyock, NC.Essential Functions: Ensures the development, documentation, and presentation of IS security, education, awareness, and training for management, IS personnel and users. All documentation is sufficient for successful CSA accreditation/approvals. Establishes, documents, implements and monitors the IS Security Program and related procedures for the facility and ensures facility compliance with security requirements. Identifies and documents unique local threats/vulnerabilities. Coordinates the facility IS Security Program with other facility security programs. Ensures that periodic self-inspections of the facility`s IS Program are conducted as part of the overall facility self-inspection program. Ensures the development of all NISPOM required procedures. Ensures the logical and physical security and integrity of all servers and data. Sets up and maintains company LAN and WAN environments in a restricted access environment.. Prioritizes issues for IT resolution. Controls activities related to day-to-day maintenance such as, editing indexes and performing installations and upgrades. Performs nightly backups of servers while administering a scheduled rotation of tapes both on and off-site. Performs design implementation and maintenance of stored procedures and triggers. Involved in unit testing and work documentation, as well as researching new technologies and development tools to remain informed of current technologies. Creates and/or modifies customized software applications based on the organizations requirements. Installs, Designs, Develops and maintains customized database applications. Provides from a security perspective all remote access, virus protection, backup, and recovery. Provides knowledgeable internal/external end-user support for all application systems (Desktops, Servers). Oversees provision of end-user services, including help desk and technical support services. Provides on-demand setup and installation of Laptop/Desktop/equipment. Maintains detailed documentation of all IT job functions for use as reference material. Performs other duties as assigned or required.
A SECRET security clearance is required. Applicants may be requested to apply for higher security clearance. Bachelor`s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent work experience; MCSE Certification a plus. Excellent analytical, written, and oral communication skills and the ability to work independently and follow tasks thought to completion. Must have the ability to easily prioritize time-sensitive projects. Must have strong technical and analytical skills and at least 5 to 7 years of previous IT experience with extensive networking (including TCP/IP, Firewalls, Routers, Remote Access and Print Servers) experience. Must also have proven experience with hardware and software (including MS Office) installation, maintenance and support. Must be able to speak the English language in an understandable manner.
Position will be based in a busy office environment and will be subject to frequent interruptions.
Must be able to lift and carry file boxes and other awkward items weighing up to 25 lbs, including up and down stairs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching, crawling, kneeling, and bending throughout the workday. Must be able to see and hear, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
