Note to Self: Time to Make Changes Before Change Makes You
Today, as I was driving around my city, I could sense a shift in the air. I made a note to myself and said it`s time to shift. As you look in the eyes of other people, you can sense that they are ready to experience something totally different and fresh. Everyone is looking for the New-New a new start, a new outlook, something new to believe in.
In the world, there are shifts that take place all of the time. These shifts impact people, processes, and products. Many times, shifts in perspectives, ideologies, and mindsets often need to be overhauled in order to make room for new possibilities. This doesn`t happen overnight. It is a long sustained march in the same direction. Be deliberate about your life. Be intentional about your future. Move now!
Why shift? You have stayed at this movie long enough. There is another mountain to be conquered, a dream to be fulfilled, and a new chapter to be written. In the words of the song the Gambler by Kenny Rogers " You got to know when to hold em, know when to fold em, know when to walk away and know when to run. You never count your money when you`re sittin at the table. There`ll be time enough for countin when the dealins done. I love this song. In fact, I need to download it from i-Tunes.
In a car you shift gears. Today, I invite you to shift from negative to positive. Shift from pessimism to optimism. Shift from discouragement to encouragement. Shift from waiting for the other shoe to drop to giving yourself a swift kick in the rear end. Shift from playing it safe to taking a risk. You know you want to shift but you are waiting for someone to nudge you and push you over the edge. Well, that someone would be me.
Examine your world and determine for yourself what shifts you need to make personally and professionally. When you do it, you will uncover hidden gems of relationships and limitless opportunities that were just below the surface, waiting for you to shift. Send yourself an e-mail and in the subject line type " SHIFT.
Do you want to know how to shift? Send me an e-mail (email@example.com) that outlines what shifts you need to make and why and I will give you a few suggestions on how to. If I don`t know, then I will point you in the right direction.
Simon says: Shifts happen when the shifted become the shifter. Shift gears.
