$35 Million Opening Ceremony of Mardan Palace Hotel in Antalya, Turkey

How do ex-communists live? Well, most have become poorer, but a few have thrived and become billionaires. Mr. Telman Ismailov is one of the billionaires. He opened MARDAN PALACE HOTEL in Antalya, Turkey, yesterday which cost $1.4 billion.

The opening ceremony yesterday, to which 600 were invited, including world celebrities and Hollywood stars like Paris, Mariah Carey, Sharon Stone, Richard Gere, Monica Belluci, Seal and Tom Jones, cost $35 million. The laser show alone which was put on by 150 personnel cost $2 million.

In the menu, the following were included:

950 Atlantic lobsters

45 kilo Beluga khaviar

Hundreds of kilos, oysters and shrimps

1 ton, calf, chicken, lamb meat

600 pheasants and other hunt birds

5 kgs truffle champignons

400 kilos chocolates

65 kilos duck liver

10.000 eggs

200 bottles of Chateau Mutton Rotschild

200 bottles of Chablis Grand Cru

Russian billionaires lost considerable money in the recent global economic crisis. The top ten are said to have lost $ 380 billion. In despite of this Mr. Ismailov seems to have made a very lucrative investment with his MARDAN PALACE HOTEL in Antalya, Turkey, which is said to be the most luxurious hotel in the world.
