Behind FOX's Prison Break

Behind FOX's Prison Break

By Garrett Godwin

Week after week, the masters behind FOX's Prison Break kept us watching and waiting to see if Michael Scofield, his older brother Lincoln, and their PI crew could break out and escape.  After a great season of unexpected surprises and thrills, the wait was over last night. For those of you not familiar with this series, here is the summary:

Michael Scofield gets himself into Fox River, a prison where his older brother Lincoln is.  A career criminal, Lincoln is on death row for the murder of Terrence Steadman, the Vice President's brother.  Like Dr. Richard Kimble, Lincoln is being framed, and it is up to Michael to save his older brother.  With unlikely allies such as Sucre and C-Note, he sets out a master plan to break out of Fox River with the aid of schematic plans of the prison designed as tattoos.

Throughout the season, we discover that there is a conspiracy to implicate Lincoln in Steadman's murder leading all the way to the top, right to a mysterious group called The Company.  And here's the real shocker-- Terrence Steadman's alive!  Intriguing, huh?

The last two episodes were excellent, especially the season finale.

There were a lot of twists and turns.  Just when you think you know what is going to happen next, something else shocks you such as T-Bag's hand being cut off by Abruzzi.  Another is the last few minutes.  Like you, I was rooting for the inmates-- our heroes -- getting on the plane and flying off.

That leaves one question:

"What do we do now?", asks Sucre.

"We run", responds Michael.

Last week was the breakout.  Last night was the escape.  Next season will be the chase and the manhunt.  And from what I heard, the real drama begins now that the inmates are on the run.

If this season was The Great Escape, then next season will definitely be The Fugitive.

The chase is now on!
