Soul Train History: September 8

By Garrett Godwin

Soul Train: The longest-running, first-run, nationally syndicated program in television history is also the hippest trip in America, with guest stars on this day of September 8 in 1973:

The Whispers performing "If You Feel Like Coming Home, Baby" and "I Only Meant to Wet My Feet"; Mandrill singing "Get it All" and Hang Loose", and let`s not forget the Soul Train Dancers -- with your host Don Cornelius bringing you once again another ride on the Train.

But if you miss it, then no look further because you can still catch The Best of Soul Train every weekend in syndication, so check your local listings.

And you can bet your last dollar, it was -- and still is -- all gonna be a stone cold gas, honey.

This is Garrett Godwin, and like my man Don and everyone at the Train, We wish you love, peace... and SOUL!
