A Fort Lauderdale, Fla. man was arrested after jumping out of a commercial airplane, police said Tuesday. Continental flight 408 was headed from Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport to Newark, N.J., but was delayed after passengers boarded because of weather conditions.

The individual, whose identity is unknown, was taken into custody by the Broward Sheriff’s Office. Police stated they detained the man on the tarmac after officers used a stun gun to subdue him.

The Associated Press reported that the flight crew told authorities that he ran up the aisle, banged on the cockpit and then jumped out of a door on the tarmac. The man was taken to the hospital and authorities say he will be arrested upon his release.
