Mark Zuckerberg Meets With Facebook's Oldest User: Florence Detlor, 101
"A 101-year-old California woman, believed to be Facebook`s oldest user, was treated to a tour of the company`s headquarters and met co-founder Mark Zuckerberg."
The social networking service, Facebook, was launched in February 2004. It was created by Mark Zuckerberg, when he was a sophomore at Harvard, and the site quickly grew popular with college students all over the country, and around the world.
Of course now everybody, and their mother and grandmother has a Facebook account. To remain successful a Web site has to always be adapting to new technologies. Facebook failed to predict the prominence of the mobile format, and it`s struggling to remain relevant.
It`s still too early to tell if Facebook will become another AOL or MySpace, but if you ask me Florence Detlor, 101, may just be the new face of Facebook.
By the time Florence figures out how to ping someone on Facebook, all the young people will have switched to Pinterest or another social media site that hasn`t been invented yet.
