How did your Senators vote? Polar Bears vs. Politics

By SOP newswire2

Dear Judyth Piazza,

Last week, the Senate held a key debate on the landmark Climate Security Act (S. 3036) -- one of the most important pieces of legislation for our imperiled polar bears and other wildlife in recent memory.

Unfortunately, the first truly comprehensive global warming bill fell short of the critical votes needed to overcome a filibuster.

Take action now see which side your Senators were on. Then send a message to let them know you`re paying attention.

Thanks to the support of people across the country -- including nearly 18,000 Defenders activists who emailed their Senators in support of the bill last week -- 54 Senators came out in support of this legislation (only 6 short of the 60 votes needed), showing that the majority of the Senate is ready to tackle global warming.

This is a significant step forward in the battle against our changing climate, and it couldn`t have happened without the efforts of caring people like you.

See if your Senators supported real action on global warming -- and send a message to let them know you`re watching.

Last week`s vote sets the stage for bold action early in the next Congress in the battle against global warming. With your help, we will continue our efforts to ensure that our wildlife has a fighting chance.
