Judyth Piazza chats with Chrissy McVay, Author of 'Souls of the North Wind'

Chrissy K. McVay`s first novel `Souls of the North Wind`, won a Silver in the 2005 Foreword Magazine`s Book of the year awards.  The screenplay version is currently being considered for a feature film by Alan Kaplan at Cine LA.  Her short stories have appeared in `Foliate Oak`, `Wild Violet Magazine`, `Aim Magazine` and various other publications.  Her award winning short story `Soloist` will appear in `Rosebud Magazine` in the upcoming December issue (Soloist won 1rst place in Wild Violet Magazine`s 2005 Fiction contest).  The screenplay version of `Soloist` is currently being considered for a feature film by Marton Varo of Rockview Pictures.

Chrissy was born in Sturgis, Michigan and raised in the small farming community of Constantine, Michigan.  She currently lives in the mountains of Western North Carolina with her family (which includes two golden retrievers).  They enjoy hiking, canoing and fishing.  Her next novel, `Only Eagles Know My Name` is currently going through the editing process and will hopefully be released by Feb. 2008.
