'Canis-Resort' that charges 80 euros

"Jet-setting German dog owners who can`t bear to be separated from their pets a moment longer than necessary can now use a luxury pet lodging near Munich airport. Sabine Gerteis, a managing director of the `Canis-Resort` that charges 80 euros (72 pounds) a night, said the facility is intended to cater to well-heeled business people who are close to their pets. A special touch -- at extra cost -- is a gate-to-gate service which takes dogs to the airport to greet their owners upon their return." Reuters/Anna Brooke I have two cats and two dogs, and whenever I`m away on business or pleasure, I hate leaving my babies behind. I`m not "well-heeled", I pray that this idea will be adopted by a budget hotel chain. Whenever I come home from work my two dogs welcome me with sloppy kisses and wagging tails. It would be great if I could receive such an enthusiastic welcome at the airport. Of course this only works with dogs and not cats, at the most my felines will cast a quick glance in my direction when I come home. If my kitties were brought to meet me at the airport, they wouldn`t purr or meow. God bless the Germans for being so considerate of pet owners, I hope this marvelous idea catches on in this country
