Dude Threatens To Go Postal On Telemarketer
"Forty-three-year-old Charles Papenfus was arrested at the Fostoria Police Dept. and taken to St. Louis, Mo., on a charge that he threatened to kill a telemarketer.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that on May 18, Papenfus lost his temper on the phone with an employee from a St. Louis company. The caller was trying to get him to buy an extended warranty for a car he owned.
The newspaper cites court documents that say an agitated Papenfus told the sales rep he would, `burn down the building and kill the employees and their families.`" Tim Miller/WTOL.COM
We can all identify with this guy`s frustration; you`re searching for the latest batch of nude Britney Spears` pics, when you are interrupted from your noble pursuit by a telemarketing call.
Most of these clowns disturb you during dinner, because the telemarketing companies know that`s the time when most people are home. Some of us are too lazy to sign up for the "do not call list", and not surprisingly our dinner is often interrupted.
I`ve succumbed to phone rage on more than one occasion, I`ve called telemarketers every name in the book, but I`ve never threatened to burn down the building.
Papenfus should be charged and convicted of making a terroristic threat, but the court should show him leniency. His punishment should be to have his phone disconnected for 60 days.
