Destiny is calling with Heroes: Season One on DVD

By Garrett Godwin

What happens if you wake up one morning and discover that you can do things that no one else can?  For instance, the ability to hear others' thoughts, or the ability to stop time?  What would you do? Those are the first of several questions that will be answered in Heroes: Season One on DVD.  Also known as Volume One, it features all 23 chapters (episodes) with several extras, including the exclusive, uncut 73-minute first chapter.

Heroes: Genesis follows the trials, tribulations, and journey of several ordinary individuals who are blessed -- and cursed -- with extraordinary powers.  While some believe they're called for a higher purpose and embraced the path of heroism, others struggled to deal with these abilities and strive for normalcy.  There are even those that walk a line between right and wrong.

However, there are people who want to help them come to terms with their powers, but there are also others who want to capture them -- using them for to their own personal agendas and goals.

No matter what, these people will soon discover that they're connected, as the fate of the world lies within their hands.

Heroes: Genesis is divided into three parts:

Save the cheerleader...
Claire Bennet is a popular high-school cheerleader with the power to heal herself.  Adopted since birth, Claire believes that she has the perfect family, living the perfect life, but she will soon discover that nothing -- and no one -- is what it seems, including her father...

Are you on the list?
Dr. Mohinder Suresh continues carrying on his father's work to track down those with abilities.  However, he will soon learn that he's not the only one, leading him to one question: Whom can he trust?

...Save the world
The Heroes start to come together in New York City, as the battle between good and evil comes to a head.  Who will live -- and who will die?

Though you may be disappointed with the finale, you may want to watch it again, and see why the book ended the way it did.

Take a stand and choose a side with Heroes: Genesis, Volume One, now available on DVD.
