Angelina Jolie Changes Mind, Won't Retire Soon
Angelina Jolie is one of the most beautiful women in the world, but she`s far from being a Britney Spears Hollywood bimbo. The brainy beauty uses her fame and influence to do good, she serves as a Goodwill Ambassador for the UN Refugee Agency. Jolie doesn`t spend her spare time flashing her goods at nightclubs, she and her hubby have their hands full with enough children to stock a couple of orphanages.
Jolie is my all-time favorite actress, and I was disturbed to read two recent articles about her.
The first news item concerns some personal information that Jolie recently revealed:
"Angelina Jolie sometimes wears urine-soaked dresses on the red carpet. The `Changeling` star - who raises six children with partner Brad Pitt - admits juggling her family and career sometimes causes problems, particularly when preparing for a big event with limited time.
She said: `The only time fame and family life ever collides is if, you know, we`re trying to get ready for some event where we have to walk a carpet and somebody gets peed on, and figures, `Oh well, I guess we`ll be wearing that this evening.`"
This goes under the heading TMI (too much information). When I see Jolie dressed to the nines, I imagine her smelling like a rose. Knowing that there`s a good chance that she reeks of urine destroys the mystique.
With a gazillion kids running and crawling all over her home I can understand if there`s an accident or two, but Angelina, baby, keep such unpleasant news to yourself.
The second is the horrible news that Jolie may quit Hollywood to devote more time to her humongous family.
"Angelina Jolie has backed out from her decision to quit acting, insisting she`s not ready to retire yet. Recently, the actress said that she wants to quit films so she could spend more time with her six children and partner Brad Pitt.
However, speaking at a press conference on Nov 17 (08), to promote her new movie Changeling, the actress admitted that she still has acting ambitions. `I`m not making some retirement announcement.`"
Thank goodness that the Queen of Hollywood`s retirement is not imminent. I hope that there will be many more Academy Award winning performances in her future.
Angelina, I will forgive you if sometimes you smell like a sewer, and I can overlook your hundred and one kids, but daring I will never forgive you if you retire prematurely.
