Video: Madonna Pays Tribute To Dead Stagehands At Concert In Italy

By Robert Paul Reyes

"Two stagehands were killed this week when rigging collapsed as workers were building a stage for a Madonna concert in Marseille, France.

On Thursday night, during a performance of her Sticky and Sweet tour in Udine, Italy, a tearful and distraught Madonna told the crowd that she was devastated and asked the crowd for a moment of silence." http://www.kansascity.com/stargazing/story/1330529.html

As soon as Madonna struts on stage she has the audience in the palm of her hand. If you`ve ever seen the pop diva perform, you know that her fans repeatedly and spontaneously cry out "Madonna, Madonna, Madonna" as if they were summoning a deity.

Madonna may be a goddess, but she can`t snap her fingers and have the stage and sound system magically materialize in front of her eyes. It takes an army of roadies, stagehands, sound technicians, and carpenters to put everything together.

Madonna may be a diva, but she seems to be sincerely grateful for the hundreds of behind-the-scenes workers who help make her concert tours a huge success.

Madonna was devastated by the news that two stagehands were killed when rigging collapsed as workers were building a stage for an upcoming concert.
